So here is the big announcement I baited a week or so ago....
As many of you know, in years past, we have put on a nice banquet for the members during finals week. It has been held in offsite restaurants or, as in recent years, cooked by our own Chef Ron. This banquet is a wonderful and emotional experience for all involved--corps jackets are given out, the age-outs have an opportunity to tell the corps what the corps has meant to them, and generally, a way to bring the corps closer together just prior to their finals prelims. Last year, chef Ron and company, put out a full prime rib dinner with all the fancy fixins you would expect to find in a four-star restaurant--and the dinner gave nothing away in comparison--it was fabulous.
A few weeks ago, we got word that the banquet was not going to be within our budget. The cost of fuel and food has risen to the point that cuts were needed and the banquet was on the block. Well, in true BAC fashion, a few wonderful supporters came together to underwrite a major portion of the expense--several thousands of dollars.
So...to cover the remaining expenses for this awesome event, we are asking for your support also. Please visit the Boston web site here and make a donation so we can continue this great tradition. We are asking for $20 to help with the expense of this dinner. These donations will ONLY be used for this dinner or, if there is excess, carried over for next season's dinner. It is separate from all of the general expense donations. If you can give more or less, please do that also. Simply ad more than one $20 unit. If you can give less than 20, use the misc donation section but note in the box it is for the dinner.
If you plan to be in Bloomington on Wednesday evening and would like to attend the banquet, the $20per person donation will get you the best prime rib in town and a nite you will remember forever. I know you will help us to make this evening an ongoing tradition.
